College Vidya Launches Board of Mentors to Strengthen Career Guidance for Online Higher Education Learners
College Vidya has launched a first-of-its-kind Board of Mentors featuring renowned experts from education, leadership, public service and entertainment to strengthen career guidance for online higher education learners. The initiative enhances the expertise of Career Development Advisors through structured mentoring, helping students make informed academic and career decisions in a rapidly evolving education landscape.
The newly constituted Board of Mentors includes Dr. Vijender Singh Chauhan, educator and public speaker; Himeesh Madaan, leadership coach; Amogh Lila Das, author and spiritual leader; Naveen Kasturia, actor; and Ravi Kapoor, former Indian Revenue Service officer and career mentor. Collectively, the mentors bring decades of experience across education, communication, leadership, entrepreneurship and public service, offering perspectives that are increasingly shaping career success but remain largely absent from conventional admissions counselling.
Commenting on the launch, Rohit Gupta, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of College Vidya, said that choosing a degree today means choosing a long-term career trajectory, making informed guidance far more critical than traditional admissions counselling. He stated that the Board of Mentors is the company's response to this gap and reflects its continued investment in enhancing the judgment of its Career Development Advisors so that every learner receives guidance grounded in the evolving realities of their chosen field.
Under the initiative, the mentors will conduct structured mentoring sessions, interactive workshops and regular knowledge-sharing engagements with College Vidya's Career Development Advisors. These programmes are intended to deepen advisors' understanding of learner aspirations, changing career pathways and evolving employer expectations. The initiative seeks to equip advisors with stronger industry insights and broader perspectives, enabling them to provide learners with more confident, accurate and future-focused career guidance aligned with emerging professional opportunities.
Himeesh Madaan, leadership coach and member of the Board of Mentors, said that young people today have access to more opportunities than ever before but often lack the right direction. He described the guidance gap as a genuine challenge and expressed his commitment to contributing to the initiative to help bridge that gap.
Ravi Kapoor, former Indian Revenue Service officer, career mentor and member of the Board of Mentors, said that although he has mentored lakhs of students over the past decade, individual efforts have limitations. He stated that joining College Vidya's Board of Mentors would allow him to extend his impact through the company's Career Development Advisors and support a much larger number of learners.
The announcement comes at a time when the demand for quality career guidance continues to grow. According to College Vidya's Career Guidance Gap Report, 51.6 per cent of learners do not consult a trained career counsellor before making higher education decisions despite the rapid expansion of learning pathways and career opportunities. The findings reinforce the need for structured, expert-led counselling that enables learners to make informed academic and professional choices.
The Board of Mentors reflects College Vidya's belief that meaningful education and career decisions should be guided by informed expertise rather than unsolicited opinions. Extending this philosophy to a wider audience, the company recently launched its "Yahan Sab Gyaani Hain" campaign featuring Dr. Vijender Singh Chauhan and actor Satish Ray. Through humour, the campaign highlights the common reality that while many people offer advice, not everyone is qualified to guide life-changing academic and career decisions, reinforcing College Vidya's commitment to expert-led career guidance.
Since its inception, College Vidya has helped more than 1.25 lakh learners explore and enrol in University Grants Commission-entitled online and distance learning programmes. With the launch of the Board of Mentors, the company is reinforcing its commitment to raising the standards of career guidance and enabling learners to make better-informed decisions in an increasingly dynamic higher education landscape.
